Case Studies

Greater Anglia Orient Way

Project Overview:

The functionality of Orient Way Train Care Depot on a 24/7 basis was paramount to the operation of Greater Anglia’s rolling stock. Due to failing and obsolete depot infrastructure, urgent upgrades and renewals were required. These works needed to be carried out while keeping the live depot fully operational at all times. All maintenance activities, new installations, and upgrade works were therefore required to support and facilitate the introduction of the new rolling stock.

Our Role: Tyford Electrical were contracted in to come up with solutions to design any short falls. Drawing on our experience and forward-thinking approach , we identified electrical design detail concerns and provided full support to resolve them collaboratively, ensuring programme adherence and the safe delivery of the works.

Project Overview:

St Paul ’s School is undergoing an extension that includes two new buildings: Junior School East and Junior School West. These extensions will provide new teaching spaces, changing facilities, a double -height theatre , and a multi -functional exhibition space, among many other facilities. Together, the extensions will accommodate an additional 670 pupils. At Tyford Electrical, we were happily involved with the electrical development of the school.

Our Role:

New lighting and small power systems were installed together with fire alarms, security and IT systems. The new school was developed and various areas designed with new lighting and power systems installed.

Amazon Driver Lounge Weybridge

Project Overview:

Tyford Electricals were appointed as the electrical contractor for a live operational logistics site, delivering the full electrical installation to support the construction of new permanent facilities, including a Drivers’ Lounge and associated infrastructure. Working closely with the principal contractor and site management team, Tyford Electricals provided a comprehensive, end-to-end electrical solution, ensuring all systems were installed safely, neatly, and in full compliance with relevant regulations and site standards

Live Site Working & Coordination

All works were carried out within a live, high-traffic operational environment. Tyford Electricals demonstrated strong coordination and planning, ensuring their activities were sequenced to align with the wider construction programme and minimise disruption to ongoing site operations. Temporary power was installed and managed safely during the construction phase, allowing works to progress efficiently while maintaining strict safety controls at all times
